How does a perfume differ from a deodorant in terms of usage/utility/performance ?

Deodorant, obviously, deodorizes the smell of body odor, it gets rid of it. Perfume is just another layer to go over the smell. It's pretty much a cover up.How does a perfume differ from a deodorant in terms of usage/utility/performance ?
Well i believe that a perfume is purely there to smell nice. It usually lasts the whole day and throughout the day its smell can differ. A deodorant is often there just for a fresh feeling and the smell will fade pretty quickly. Because deodorants are light you often end up using them more quickly than perfumes. Perfumes are stronger and therefore you only need to spray a couple of squirts. How does a perfume differ from a deodorant in terms of usage/utility/performance ?
The perfume you can spray on your neck, arms, clothes, etc. But the deodorant you can only put in your armpits.
you spray a perfume and you rub deodorant on your armpits but some deo's are just like perfume bottle i dont understand myself!
